Selected Work
Below are examples of RJ Kenna's work with clients, the challenge we faced, the strategy to succeed, and the outcome. Textual examples of my clients' work will not be provided in order to protect their future copyright applications.
01
Genre Gap

Challenge: Transitioning a screenwriter from externally-driven action to emotionally immersive narrative characterization suitable for long-form fiction.
Approach: Developed scaffolded exercises emphasizing POV differentiation, emotional embodiment, and character-centric interiority to reduce creative paralysis and strengthen narrative cohesion.
Outcome: Supported the client in developing the confidence and structural clarity necessary to complete a cohesive first novel draft.
02
Quicksand Exit Ramp
The Challenge: Helping blocked writers establish sustainable momentum and measurable creative progress within a structured five-week development program.
The Approach: Designed a scaffolded creative framework integrating narrative fundamentals, individualized goal-setting, and publishing-process clarity to reduce overwhelm and increase project completion.
The Outcome: One participant progressed from fragmented notes and audience uncertainty to two polished children's manuscripts prepared for illustration, alongside development of a third project.

03
Systems Thinking

The Challenge: Integrating multiple interdisciplinary creative services into a cohesive brand ecosystem capable of supporting sustainable growth, audience clarity, and long-term creative development.
The Approach: Developed a scalable creative framework aligning audience needs, service architecture, narrative positioning, and accessible client pathways across multiple creative disciplines.
The Outcome: Established LinesByKenna as a multidisciplinary creative imprint, supporting collaborative development, long-term client relationships, and a projected multi-year pipeline of creative work and publishing initiatives.
04
Visual Storytelling
The Challenge: Translating deeply personal identity symbols into cohesive visual storytelling within a constrained visual medium.
The Approach: Conducted empathy-driven discovery interviews to identify symbolic language, emotional themes, and visual motifs capable of authentically representing the client's identity and experience.
The Outcome: Delivered a final visual concept that resonated so strongly with the client's self-perception that the design proceeded directly to the permanent implementation without revision.
